Building an informed citizenry

ACC successfully completed the second round of Gewog Awareness & Advocacy Program in Tsirang Dzongkhag on 19 April 2017. The advocacy program started on 9 April 2017 covered all the Gewogs under the Dzongkhag. A total of 2,677Β participants (including 998 students & 20 teachers of Damphu Central School) attended the program. The program was aimed at building an informed citizenry and to garner support in the fight against corruption.

So far, ACC has completed the first round of Awareness & Advocacy Programs in all the 205 Gewogs, and in the second round, ACC has completed 50 Gewogs of Chhukha, Samtse, Sarpang and Tsirang Dzongkhags. Such programs are catered through various themes involving key stakeholders such as the local governments, schools and youth in different parts of the country.

The advocacy program is expected to develop the sense of intolerance and resistance to corruption, and improve the quality of complaints by sharing some typical case studies.
