The Bhutan National Legal Institute (BNLI) is currently conducting a training on โJudicial Integrity and Ethicsโ for the Bench Clerks of all 20 Dzongkhags. The training was launched on 7 March 2016 by HRH Ashi Sonam Dechan Wangchuck, the President of BNLI. Covering a total of 90 Bench Clerks, two rounds of training has been completed till date.
Towards supplementing the training, ACC has been conducting the session on corruption dimension entailing the definition of corruption, types of corruption offences, corruption scenarios and investigation procedure through a case study, for the last two sessions and will continue to advocate for the next round of trainings.
The training is in line with the Judiciary Integrity Scan conducted in May 2015. A credible judiciary is essential for protecting individual rights, socioeconomic advancement and enhancing democratic culture. Of the many reforms taking place in the judicial system in strengthening its integrity and developing the competencies of the judicial personnel, the recent training on โJudicial Integrity and Ethics for Bench Clerksโ is a clear manifestation of the Judiciaryโs support in preventing corruption.
ACC remains committed in working closely with the Judiciary and the BNLI in integrating ethics and integrity management in the judicial sector.
