Strengthening the role of Gewog Administrative Officers (GAOs) for the implementation of 12th FYP

A team led by Director, DoPE, ACC interacted with 54 Gewog Administrative Officers (GAO) of six central Dzongkhags (Dagana, Samtse, Sarpang, Trongsa, Tsirang & Zhemgang) during the biennial Gewog Administrative Officers’ symposium at Tsirang on 22nd December, 2017. The three days session themed ‘’strengthening the Gewog Administrative Officers for effective implementation of 12th FYP in the Gewogs’’ was organized by the Department of Local Governance, MoHCA.
During the session, ACC highlighted some important aspects of corruption and roles that the Gewog Administrative Officers can play in mainstreaming anti-corruption measures in the gewog development programs. Through such conscious effort, it is expected to contribute towards achieving the NKRA ‘Corruption Reduced’ in the 12th FYP. Besides this, Gewog Administrative Officers were also sensitized on the complaint management systems, corruption scenario at gewog level, emerging risks and corruption prevention tools of ACC.
