Building technological capacity to support effectiveness and efficiency of investigations

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) received two portable interview recording equipment worth Nu. 1.20 million from the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) as part of support to the Justice Sector Programme. The equipment was handed over by the Head of the ADA to Commissioner A Karma Rinzin on 24 March 2021.

Investigation as one of the key strategies to deter corrupt acts, the ACC has always emphasized in strengthening institutional capacity to detect and secure clinching evidentiary documents for effective prosecution. To this, optimizing technological advancements to aid collection of information as well as ensuring integrity of every investigation processes has been the ACC’s focus. Use of such equipment complements the ACC’s efforts to conduct investigations with highest standards of professionalism following due process of law. 

These portable interview recording equipment will be effective and of convenient use while conducting interviews and interrogations outside Thimphu and Phuntsholing. The ACC plans to procure such additional equipment depending on the user feedback.
