As part of the Fourth Commission’s ongoing familiarization programme, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), represented by the Hon’ble Chairperson and a Commissioner, conducted a series of engagements with local government officials, regional offices, and Integrity Schools across the eastern Dzongkhags of Trashiyangtse, Mongar, and Pemagatshel from 28 May to 1 June 2026.
The programme provided an opportunity for the Commission to strengthen institutional engagement, gain insights into governance challenges at the grassroots level, and reinforce collaboration in promoting transparency, accountability, and integrity in public service delivery.
Engagement with Dzongkhag Administrations

Approximately 220 officials, led by the respective Dzongdags, participated in the engagements. During the sessions, the Commission acknowledged the continued efforts of local governments in mainstreaming integrity and anti-corruption measures, including the implementation of Asset Declaration and Integrity Vetting systems.
The Commission emphasized the importance of sustained commitment to strengthening preventive measures against corruption and highlighted that combating corruption requires a whole-of-system approach, supported by robust governance mechanisms and collective responsibility across institutions.
The sessions also served as a platform for constructive dialogue, allowing participants to share experiences, discuss challenges, and raise issues encountered at the local level.
Engagement with Integrity Schools

The programme also included visits to four Integrity Schools: Lingmethang Middle Secondary School, Yadi Central School, Tshenkharla Central School, and Nangkor Central School. Around 1,400 students and faculty members participated in the engagements.
In recognition of their commitment to promoting integrity values and implementing integrity-related initiatives, the participating schools were awarded Integrity Plaques and Certificates of Appreciation.
Strengthening Partnerships for Integrity

With the completion of this programme, the Commission has concluded its first familiarization engagement with local governments in the eastern region. The initiative forms part of the ACC’s broader efforts to foster stronger partnerships with local governments and educational institutions, while promoting a culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability throughout the country.
