A five-member delegation led by the Commissioners attended the 12th Regional Conference of the Anti-Corruption Initiative for Asia and the Pacific from 23-25 September 2025 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Organised by the joint secretariat of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), in collaboration with Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the conference was themed “Integrity to Catalyse Social Development and Economic Growth.” It brought together policymakers and international partners to explore how integrity frameworks in the public and private sectors, supported by strong enforcement, can sustain social and economic development.
The proceedings included Steering Group Meetings, Thematic Sessions and Workshops, and the 7th Asia and the Pacific Law Enforcement Network (AP LEN) Meeting. Key discussions focused on integrity tools such as conflict of interest management, beneficial ownership, asset declaration monitoring, effective reporting mechanisms, and the use of big data, AI, and blockchain in combating corruption.
Two Commissioners served as panel speakers on Beneficial Ownership Registries and Business Integrity Frameworks for Sustainable Investment, while the Director General chaired and moderated sessions at the AP LEN meeting, which centred on strengthening domestic, regional, and international cooperation in detecting, investigating, and prosecuting corruption.
The Anti-Corruption Initiative for Asia and the Pacific (ACI), founded in 1999, serves as a regional platform for sharing best practices and advancing policy dialogue on integrity and anti-corruption. Bhutan, one of the 34 member economies, has hosted two regional seminars in collaboration with ADB and OECD, in November 2016 and September 2024.
