As our nation rises yet again towards an important milestone, a team from the Anti-Corruption Commission is honoured to participate in the 5th Zhabtog Programme for the Gelephu Mindfulness City, alongside more than 16,000 fellow Bhutanese united in purpose. This round of engagement is especially significant as it coincides with the Birth Anniversary of His Majesty The King, under whose visionary leadership the transformative idea of the Gelephu Mindfulness City was conceived.
Even in the simplest acts — lifting a stone, clearing a bush, or wielding a spade — the spirit of solidarity among volunteers is boundless. In these acts, we see more than service; we see a talisman heralding a brighter future and a living testament to Bhutan’s enduring values. At a time when development in much of the world is measured by what one owns rather than what one contributes, this gesture sends a powerful message: true nation-building is forged through unity, selfless service, and unwavering Damtsi.
It was the hands of our forefathers that chiselled the identity of our nation — through Zhabtog Lemi in constructing Dzongs and Lhakhangs, carving the first motorable road, and laying the foundations of our communities. Today, the same spirit of solidarity and collective responsibility brings the Gelephu Mindfulness City to life, hand in hand.
This is more than voluntary service. This is nation-building at its finest. This is our identity. And history will indeed remember the hands that built the collective fortune.
