Empowering Grassroots Communities in the fight against corruption

A team from Trashigang Regional Office of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) of Bhutan, successfully completed anti-corruption engagement programs for the Gewogs of  Pemagatshel and Trashiyangtse Dzongkhags in January 2026. With this, the Regional Office completed its first round of Gewog-level engagement programs, engaging a total of 10,154 citizens across six eastern Dzongkhags, over the past three years.

The program, themed “Building Awakened, Accountable, and Responsible Citizens to Combat Corruption” highlighted the important roles individuals can play in creating a graft-free nation. Such programs at the grassroots level transcend mere sensitization on corruption and reflect the ACC’s priority in empowering citizens to act against corruption.

The ACC will continue to engage citizens through similar programs towards fostering a natural sense of collective responsibility in fighting corruption.
