‘Leadership, management and recruitment’-Keys to organizational success

Upon the invitation of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), two management consultants from Morris & McDaniel, Inc., USA conducted a half-day workshop on “personnel recruitment and leadership” on 17th July, 2013 at the ACC conference hall.

Besides the officials of the ACC, the workshop also had participants from the Royal Civil Service Commission (RCSC), Royal Audit Authority (RAA), Election Commission of Bhutan (ECB), Royal Bhutan Police (RBP), Office of Attorney General (OAG), Department of Revenue and Customs (DRC), Department of Immigration (DoI), Druk Holding and Investments (DHI), Druk Green Power Corporation (DGPC) and the Royal Insurance Corporation of Bhutan Limited (RICBL).

The session dwelled on promoting organizational performance through emphasis on leadership, management and personnel recruitment with much emphasis on the role of quality recruits in shaping organizational efficiency. The experts, Mr. David M. Morris (Ph.D., J.D.) and Mr. Thomas V. Fuentes, shared strategies/practices in selecting appropriate personnel, showcasing international best practices and discussing local scenarios. The consequences of in-adequate selection and promotional systems were discussed in detail.
