Interactive Session with the Students at Technical Vocational and Educational Training (TVET) Winter Camp

Upon invitation from the Jigme Wangchuk Power Training Institute (JWPTI), Dekiling, Sarpang a team comprising of two members led by the Director from the Department of Prevention and Education (DoPE) interacted with 116 students from 39 schools gathered for Technical Vocational and Educational Training (TVET) Winter Camp on January 3, 2017. The three weeks TVET Winter Camp (from 2 - 22 January 2017)  was organized by the Department of Human Resource, Ministry of Labor and Human Resources to encourage youth to take up blue color jobs and meaningfully engage their vacation learning vocational skills.

Under the theme “one skill by one youth is zero dependence” (1+1=0), students are exposed to some of the basic vocational skills in the field of plumbing, electrical, masonry and carpentry. The Director, DoPE acknowledged all the participants for such meaningful engagement and emphasized on some of the fundamental values but not limited to integrity, competence and positive energy that forms the bedrock of happy, harmonious and corruption free society.

During the session, the participants were shared on two case studies pertaining to HR and Construction Sectors and emphasized on the roles of youth in preventing corrupt practices in the society. Students were also educated on some of the recent anti-corruption efforts initiated by the Anti-Corruption Commission and solicited their unwavering support in the fight against corruption.

Such interactive session is expected to develop the sense of intolerance and resistance to corruption, and build clean future generation by involving youth as an agent of positive change. Further, it is also expected to improve the quality of complaints in the ACC. The participants felt such session was timely and appreciated ACC efforts.
