DAMTSI-BIZ Certificate Programme for Financial Institutions

On 2 September 2026, the Anti-Corruption Commission presented the DAMTSI-BIZ Certification Programme to the management team of Bhutan Development Bank Limited. DAMTSI-BIZ which stands for Developing Accountable, Moral, Transparent and Successful Individuals for Business, is a homegrown integrity certification framework designed to support institutions in identifying corruption risks, strengthening internal control mechanisms and embedding ethical conduct into day-to-day operations. The programme focuses on three essential areas: capable people, risk informed systems and responsible leadership. Through practical training, Corruption Risk Management, Organizational Integrity Planning and leadership integrity assurance, DAMTSI-BIZ aims to support institutions to move beyond paper-based compliance towards meaningful integrity in practice.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of integrity in financial institutions, given their role in safeguarding public funds, confidential information, and the economic wellbeing of individuals, businesses, and communities. BDBL was identified as a suitable pilot institution due to its national development mandate, wide rural outreach, and the significant public trust it carries. Through this collaboration, BDBL has the opportunity to contribute to shaping a practical integrity framework for the financial sector and demonstrate that integrity is not limited to preventing corruption, but also includes protecting public trust, strengthening institutional credibility, and promoting sustainable development through accountability and ethical leadership.
