INVESTIGATION SEMINAR


On the invitation of the ACC, Mr. Michael Doughlas Symons - the Executive Director (Investigations) of the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), New South Wales, Australia conducted a three day seminar on investigation techniques from 3 to 6 January, 2011. The participants of the training included officers of the Royal Bhutan Police and Investigation Division of the ACC for the first two days. The seminar covered various aspects of interrogation skills/techniques and practical hands-on exercises. Investigation planning was another subject covered in the seminar. The participants worked on the investigation planning of case studies. The last day of the training focused on the subject of conflict between corruption prevention and investigation”. The additional participants included internal auditors of select ministries, officers from the office of the attorney general and officers of the Prevention and Public Education Division of the ACC. The day’s session discussed at length the impacts and sustainability issues of corruption prevention strategy.
4 new officers yet to be inducted in to the ACC cadre also attended the seminar.
The ACC plans to strengthen its collaboration with the ICAC as it is a leading and renowned anti corruption agency in the region.
